Raleigh Strip Clubs: Duke lacrosse accuser held on new crime

When the officers arrived, they found a 46-year-old man who had been stabbed in the torso. By late Sunday, police had not released the name of the male victim, who was described as Mangum's boyfriend. The stabbing apparently occurred during an argument between the couple, police reported. The victim was taken to Duke Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Officers found Mangum in a nearby apartment. She was arrested and taken to the Durham County jail. She is being held in custody without benefit of bail, authorities said. Five years ago, Mangum accused members of the Duke lacrosse team of sexually assaulting her while she was working as a stripper for an escort service. The accusations were eventually labeled as false and the case was dismissed by state Attorney General Roy Cooper, but not before the case garnered nationwide attention.

Personal opinion: It is not hard for any professional sports player to get themselves involve in sex scandals. Because of their popularity more and more of them are being caught out, most of these scandals are escort related like the David Beckham's alleged scandal with a New York escort. Interestingly enough I have not found any news relating to Australian pro sport players and sydney escorts or melbourne escorts for that matter.

Sexual assault charges against Sacred Heart trio dropped after apology

Nicholas Travers, 18, Zachari Triner, 18, and Timothy Sanders, 19, were charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree sexual assault and Sanders was charged with first-degree unlawful restraint. All charges have been nulled, meaning that unless the state decides to revive its prosecution of the case within 13 months, all charges are automatically dismissed. The courtroom apology, along with the difficulties in separating the details of the incident from the victim's description to that of the players involved, led to the dismissal.
